President The Rock is not out of the realm of possibilities.
Dwayne Johnson says it’s ‘humbling’ to know that in a recent poll 46% of Americans would support him if he ran for President of the United States but admits he might not have the ‘patience’ for politics.
The 49-year-old wrestler turned A-list movie star addressed the growing number of people ready to Rock the vote in an interview with People Magazine on Wednesday.
‘I love our country to my core and I’m endlessly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here, as a half-Black, half-Samoan kid being able to work my a*s off knowing tenacity opens doors,’ he told the outlet.
Adding: ‘In a lot of ways, I’m indebted to our great country for it.’
While The Rock has had many transformations – first as a professional WWE wrestler and then to Hollywood’s highest paid leading man – he explained that politics was never in the cards.
‘[I am] not a politician nor did I ever have political passions,’ he said. ‘And, quite frankly, I’m not sure I even have the patience or resignation to deal with the B. S. that comes with politics and politicians.’
A large swath of American’s disagree, and think that the Jungle Cruise star is just what the country needs to get back on track with 46% of responders saying they were in favor of Johnson running for the Oval Office in a recent poll.
‘When 46% of Americans say they’re in favor of me becoming president, that forces me to humbly and respectfully stand up, listen and learn,’ he said.
