The Democrats’ war on the Constitution’s First Amendment religious protections and guarantees for Christians is on again now that it appears as though Joe Biden is going to get to stumble into the Oval Office after four years of a reprieve under President Donald Trump.
According to Just the News, the Secular Democrats of America PAC has crafted a memo for the Biden transition team that essentially pressing the potentially incoming administration to discriminate against American Christians.
The memo provides Biden with directives to “boldly restore a vision of constitutional secularism and respect in the land for religious and intellectual pluralism.”
Mind you, simply asking the former VP to uphold the Constitution’s religious freedoms is more appropriate than asking him to supplant them with ‘secularism.’
Nevertheless, Just The News continues:
The federal political action committee “represents secular Democratic individuals and organizations” and advocates for “secular governance, promote respect and inclusion of nonreligious Americans, and mobilize nonreligious voters.”
The proposal was formally presented by Democratic Reps. Jamie Raskin and Jared Huffman, co-chairs of the Congressional Freethought Caucus, and endorsed by Democratic Rep. Jerry McNerney.
The proposal calls for Biden’s team to work with Congress and governors to “advance a secular agenda at all levels of government, taking into account the current makeup of the federal courts and new, unfavorable precedents that your administration will have to contend with.”
In the document, the group argues that Trump has “empowered the religious right in ways no other administration has before, making significant advances in enacting their Christian nationalist agenda.”
“We’ve offered the new administration a roadmap to restore our basic constitutional values and protect science, reason and public health in American government,” Raskin and Huffman said in a joint statement.
Their proposal also details recommendations to reverse Trump policies while “proactively” replacing them with new ones that would “restore secularism to federal governance and disentangle entrenched religious interests from federal policy.”
Wait – this sounds like President Trump replaced the Constitution with a governing system of Christian fundamentalism. But when did he do that?
Or has he simply been upholding the constitutional rights of Christian believers, which these clowns claim is improper, out of whack, and inappropriate somehow? And for that matter, hasn’t Trump upheld religious and secular views – again, just by following the First Amendment, which allows expressions of all faiths (or no faith at all)?
Not satisfied with simply bashing Christianity, the proposal goes on to provide a false ‘justification’ for their wretched bias.
“The rise of white Christian nationalism is a national security threat,” the document says. “We recommend you: encourage the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to dedicate resources to de-radicalization programs aimed at hate groups, including, but not limited to, white nationalists; increase monitoring of such groups, including the online environment, and take action to address increased hate crimes toward minority faith communities; and shift rhetoric to label violent white nationalist extremists as terrorists.”
Got that? If you’re a Christian, white, and go to church, you’re a threat to America.
Oh, and if Christians want to adopt a child, we can’t have that, either.
“Reverse the Trump administration policies that have allowed faith-based government-funded contractors to provide adoption and foster care services to discriminate on the basis of religion and work with Congress to pass the Every Child Deserves a Family Act,” the report urged.
If Biden doesn’t dismiss these Stalinists out of hand, then he’s the problem.
